Work vs. Art

Well...the last couple of months have just been lousy when it's all said and done. I get steady hours, but when I actually get a day off I'm so tired even video games seem too much to do. I haven't gotten my 3D printer working, which is the biggest worry because I hate to think I spent $600 on a glorified paperweight. I know it's up to me to get the ball rolling, but I honestly never expected working retail to be this much of a soul sucking enterprise. As unsatisfying as graphic art was at least at the end of the day I felt motivated to do some GOOD art instead of the mindless photo cropping I did day-in and day-out.
Maybe it's just the hours? Sure, I'm am NOT a morning person and prefer being able to sleep in and then stay up late. But I never get to see any of my friends anymore, and they really helped keep that creative spark going.
